In the Buddhist tradition, when someone is sick, we save a life for his or her’s sake.
Karma means “action”. When we perform an action we will experience the same thing on us. We kill, we will be killed. We save a life, we gain longer life and health.
It is more complicated than that, but this is giving you a rough idea.
A friend of mine is sick and her situation is not so easy. I am far away and in retreat. I cannot get out. So I offered the money, and Lama Yonten kindly went to buy the fishes, rented the boat with the oarsman, and went to free the poor things in the middle of the lake!
I am sorry that substack doesn’t support video. In the short video he sent me, while the oarsman releases the fishes, Lama Yonten recites prayers for both my friend and fishes. It’s quite beautiful and relaxing.
A picture of Lama Yonten is coming soon. He is my best friend here and we have a BIG project together. So you will hear a lot about him.
have a peaceful and healthy day!
Uccidiamo, saremo uccisi.
