Tashi is at the hospital with pneumonia.
A lot of our kids have lung problems.
And the rooms we can offer them are not suited for their conditions. They are wet, dark, and overcrowded.
We keep 11 or 12 kids in rooms for 4 kids.
The rooms are wet. Because of the way the building has been constructed (having the monastery little money). And also because what remains of cultivation around us is rice. Plus now we are in the rainy season.
And finally, our land is small, so during the years buildings have been constructed around us, making the ground floor, where the kids have the rooms, absolutely dark.
If only we could have big windows bringing air and light in it would be great. But we cannot even open the windows that we have, because they are blocked by the bunk beds.
That’s the situation: rooms are wet, dark, and overcrowded.
Not the ideal place for raising healthy kids.
